[Heine has made it habit to not wander into rooms unless he had to. The hotel had plenty of secrets and surprises it could hide behind closed doors. A strong whiff of aphrodisiac was one thing, but some of the hotel's assertive pushes were much more creative.

Sleep however isn't something he can avoid, which allowed to hotel to catch his guard down and toss him in whatever situation it pleased. He wasn't expecting this when his dim red eyes fluttered open and the first sniff of various foods entered his nose.

An entire buffet laid out for the picking; mountains of meat, vegetables, breads, and desserts all for the taking. Instinctive defense kicked in, although faded with the dull ache of hunger echoing through out his pale slender body.

He is still clothed for a change, pants and simple shirt with a jacket on top. He almost doesn't notice the other person; a woman seated not too far and equally confused if he could read expressions well enough. Slowly he stands bracing the chair he awake in before speaking low.]

Not the worst surprise this place has sprung on me... you? [He's trying to be cordial, and alleviate his agitation.]

[Paine was likewise familiar with the tricks that the Hotel could get up to. She sometimes decided she enjoyed them after the fact, but she rarely enjoyed falling into its traps in the moment for the simple fact that she was indignant at being tricked. She had her fun but she always preferred to have a say in it.

The hotel didn't care, of course.

She'd been asleep in her room last she recalled, but now she was here, sitting at the table in a black tanktop and jeans, a leather jacket slung over her chair. It was a nice casual version of her usual adventuring outfit, she just wished she remembered putting it on.

Her attention pulled to Heine and she nodded to him. This was definitely different. Her body hadn't even been altered yet.]

It's a lot more mundane than usual, that's for sure. This food is probably a trap. It smells great though.
